CamLooper is built local-first. This page describes what data the desktop application and the marketing website (camlooper.com) collect, and what they don't.
The desktop app
- Video files stay on your machine. All processing (loading, transcoding, looping, virtual-camera streaming) runs locally through FFmpeg. Your videos are never uploaded to CamLooper or any third party by the app.
- No account, no login. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No content telemetry. The app does not report which files you play, their contents, or their metadata.
- Optional update checks. The app may check
camlooper.comfor a newer release. This is a standard HTTPS request; Cloudflare (which serves the site) records the request metadata described below.
Advertising in the app
CamLooper is free and supported by unobtrusive ads shown inside the desktop app. Ad rendering may load creatives from third-party ad networks, which typically collect standard request metadata (IP address, coarse location, device type) to serve ads and measure delivery. Ads are separate from your video content — no ad network ever sees the video files you load or the frames you stream.
This website
camlooper.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes request metadata (IP address, user-agent, requested URL) as part of serving the site and providing DDoS protection. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details. This site does not set analytics cookies of its own.
